Whilst rebuilding InterMapper onto a new server, I was setting up an
Overview Map, with submaps of groups of equipment. In these submaps, I put
submap links to their neighboring groups. What I discovered is that if
there is an alarm in Group 1, the alarm state is propagated to the Overview
Map (rightly so). And in Group 2, the link to Group 1 shows the alarm state
of Group 2. (Also rightly so).
However, on the Overview map, Group 2 shows an alarm state which is
attributable to the link to Group 1 being in an alarm state. This is
apparently the present expected behavior. However, this results in the
propagation of a single alarm state in Group 1 being displayed in all maps.
Would it be possible to put in an option on the MapStatus probe to exclude
propagation of the probe's status? It'd be handy to be able to click on a
link to the upstream or downstream group.
Or am I missing something?
Thanks,
Kurt
