Well, I'm at home now, so I don't have any real examples that I can show you. But what I'm thinking:
F5 have a lot of indexed stuff, for pools, virtual servers etc. They show connections, new connections, traffic and other info. But adding them one by one doesn't scale. If I add another virtual server it have to be auto discovered on the next poll for it to scale. VLAN interfaces/physical interfaces in gear not using IF-MIB. Other stuff I can think of is HW-monitoring in switches, chassis with lots of temperatures, fans, modules, cpu's etc. They are also often indexed. I think I would survive with them being tested against a single threshold. Often you just want to be notified in more extreme cases so a generic value for all will probably do. Graphing, I'd like to choose what to graph, like I do today with the variables I poll. Does it make sense..? :) ./J -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.dartware.com/viewtopic.php?p=2988#2988 ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: [email protected]
