If you're using InterMapper Database, the data necessary to do this is present in the event table.

There will be a much easier way to do this in the 5.4 release, which introduces basic reporting capabilities. While it isn't able to send emails or pick out specific servers in reaction to failures, you could easily use it to produce a list of events for a particular server or set of servers.

You would select the server(s) you're interested in, right-click and choose 'Reports'. You'd then switch the data set to 'Event History', and it would show you a list of events (okay, alarm, down, etc.) for those devices, along with other information like the 'reason' text. You can then apply filters, i.e. filter out the 'okay' events so that only error states are shown, sort by time, hide unnecessary columns, etc. Once the report is ready, you can generate a web link to it that, when visited, always shows the past day's events even as time advances.

Hope that helps,

David

So my question is when a server is down, or alarm is triggered basically , an
e-mail can go out.

instead of that, is it possible to configure the system to send activities
within let's say last 24hrs as a summary report?

i am trying to generate something that's useful for external parties which is
to replace immediate emails or email by server but simply email a list of
things that has happened (if anything has happened) within last X amount of
time.
