Hi Leonard,

Currently, individual IM servers have no concept of retention policies; the 
policy given to a device/interface applies only to the database's copy of its 
data.  Once data is recorded in IM, it is kept indefinitely, or until deleted 
manually via chart options or the telnet command used to delete old chart data.

This has been an interesting discussion.  I also have a quick question: How 
long is the data stored in the IM Server?  
It is good that IMDC has retention policies to manage the data, but what about 
the individual servers themselves?
