I run instructional computing labs for a Univeristy and I manage about a
thousand computers. I'm using intermapper to help me determine issues with
these computers. My problem is that I put these computers to sleep when not in
use to save power and money. Obviously any requests to the computer fail after
that so pretty much any computer that is critical is either asleep, shutdown or
has an issue.

What I want to do is set thresholds dependent on time, so that if a computer is
down for up to4 hours it shows as a warning. If down between 4-24 hours it
shows as a warning, and if it's down for 24 hours its shown as down. What is
the best way to go about this? I'm assuming I have to make a custom probe, but
I'm not really sure if there is really a good way to do this for custom probes.
Sorry, I'm pretty new to intermapper and haven't really messed with custom
probes.
