Per previous dialog in this thread, I have just installed 5.4.5b1 of IM and IMDC. I didn't know what to expect with regards to how the changes from switches.zip would manifest themselves into my map and at first glance, but I checked Monitor > Show in Layer 2, and now I see only three devices, all three are displayed in red. I still see nothing in Endpoints pane.
One thing I do see between the Endpoints pane and the Connections pane is a red hazard icon that reads: "An error occurred while computing Layer 2 connectivity: [IntegrityError] columns poll_ip, poll_src, vlan, dedup, mac, first are not unique". Thinking that maybe I had to force a refresh of the Layer 2 info in the Server Settings, I forced a refresh, but it still shows the last update being 40 minutes ago (even though I clicked "Now" and the setting is "Every 5 Minutes". Layer 2 Features in the Map settings says the data is 40 minutes old too. I then tried to disable Layer 2 in Maps and Server settings and re-enable, but that doesn't help either.
