Make sure the type of probe in the <header> section is "custom-snmp-trap", and
not just "custom-snmp". The former tells InterMapper to update the status only
when a trap from the device is received.

Also, traps are directed to the device with IP address. You can see all traps
received in the Event Log window (Window -> Logs). Lines marked "TRAP" are from
devices on a map. Lines marked "trap" are from devices that are not on a map.

To write a probe that lists the last 10 SNMP traps, you will need to add
CALCULATION variables to a probe like the trap example here:

http://download.dartware.com/docs/DevGuide/Content/02-CustomProbes/trapexample.htm

To store the history of a variable in a probe,use the CALCULATION type to store
the previous value before setting the new one. This type of construct can be
extended to the last 10 values.

<snmp-device-variables>
timeStampVar1,  $timeStampVar,   CALCULATION, "Timestamp1"
timeStampVar,         $TimeStamp,         TRAPVARIABLE,  "Timestamp"
</snmp-device-variables>
