Hi Robert, I think I may have answered this for one of your co-workers in a trouble ticket, but for the record:
The 3Com Baseline Switch 2928-SFP is SNMP-enabled, and can be used effectively for network monitoring, depending on your requirements. The switch is not NetFlow enabled, however. The HP/3Com Baseline Switch will support link aggregation, so it is possible to reflect the switch traffic from the other interfaces on the switch out one of the ports using port spanning. A dedicated NetFlow exporter application collecting this traffic will be able to export it to InterMapper Flows. Flows will be able to collect and analyze the NetFlow data it provides. It is a way to get NetFlow data from a device such as the 2928-SFP which does not support it. InterMapper Flows works with switches and routers which export NetFlow, sFlow, and jFlow as described on the FAQ here: http://intermapper.com/support/faqs.aspx#faq-flows best regards, -- Mike Maki Technical Support Dartware, LLC -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.intermapper.com/viewtopic.php?p=3820#3820 ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: [email protected]
