I just tried it, and it looks like there's a bug when using IE. At least using IE9, it does load the URL in a new tab, but also brings up the status window in the current tab. On other browsers this doesn't happen; it just loads the URL. What version of IE are you using? And can you confirm that all you get is the status window; the URL doesn't also open in a separate window/tab?
