Thanks, sorry for not updating this. The main concern is that SNMP is enabled on the switches you're discovering the layer 2 data about.
Beyond that, they need to be on a map in InterMapper with an SNMP probe of some sort monitoring them so InterMapper knows they're SNMP devices and has the community string/ authentication info.
