Hi folks, InterMapper does not handle the OPAQUE data type from SNMP. There were a couple reasons for this design decision:
- The OPAQUE data type can be of unbounded size. We have seen instances where the data is a firmware image. - A vendor uses OPAQUE specifically to indicate that they do *not* want to specify the format of the data (possibly because they want to change its format from release to release). We have not seen many instances where there is useful information there. Consequently, we have decided not to handle this data type. best regards, -- Mike Maki Technical Support Dartware, LLC -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.intermapper.com/viewtopic.php?p=4155#4155 ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: [email protected]
