The problem is linkage; for some reason, someone (in group@ ?) decided that they didn't want to link the php core to openssl in the windows builds, and in php 4.3 you can't use ssl:// or https:// unless it is statically linked.
PHP 5 can handle this dynamically. Search the bug db; this has been reported multiple times, is documented in the manual (IIRC) and won't be fixed in 4.3 --Wez. > -----Original Message----- > From: Adam Maccabee Trachtenberg [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 09 June 2004 21:49 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [PHP-DEV] Enabling OpenSSL with Windows Binaries > > Right now, if you're using the pre-built Windows binaries, you can use > cURL to make an SSL request, but you can't use an https stream. > > I'm guessing from this that OpenSSL is already on the box that creates > the binaries, and we just need to modify the build script to enable > it.
