As stated in the RFC: "The proposed fuzzy cast rules align with **existing validation**". None of the rules stated in the RFC are arbitrary, it is an application of what already exists in the core with the validation of function arguments. See https://3v4l.org/WQJPv#vnull for example. However, we agree this deserves to be more emphasized in the RFC. I'll update in this regard. — Alexandre Daubois
