If you want to make PHP into Perl that's a fine goal I suppose, however that's not something I want to participate in.

For what its worth, I dont really see a good reason for this addition. But its also not something I feel so strongly about that I really think its critical. I am much more concerned about adding fatal errors for OO strictness violations (ups .. i am about to high jack the thread to bring up E_DEPRECATED again).
