But that has nothing to do with using exceptions rather than some other mechanism. I am completely in favour of making warnings better categorised, and easier to handle, but exceptions are not the way to do that. It's a case of seeing nails because you're holding a hammer - exceptions exist, so people want to use them everywhere.
