There are many reasons. Often the reason is simply that many cheap hosting companies or admins don't want to spend time to update. For them this is only a cost. And there are no game changers which create pressure. All major applications work on "old" versions and for the individual developer it is hard to argue "oh, I want to use the <=> operator" as the work-around is trivial. Hosters had to offer 5 quite quickly since that was a big game changer with the new object model. johannes
