Job Title : J2EE Application Administrator 

Location : Andover, Massachusetts 

Duration :6+ months C2H

Interview mode : phone

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

An applications administrator works with external vendors and internal 
applications administrators, ensuring that computer systems meet corporate 
quality standards and conform to industry practices. The administrator also 
writes software enters data or processes information, and communicates with 
peers, subordinates and departmental management. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

·        Multiple years of experience managing business systems and web-enabled 
applications.

·        Experience administering J2EE application servers in SOA architecture

·        Strong working knowledge of the following software, languages and 
tools and ability to configure them in a load-balanced environment: Windows, 
JBoss App Server, Apache web server, IIS. 

·        Demonstrated knowledge of the following: Database connectivity issues, 
Java application architecture, Integration processes with Active Directory, 
TCP/IP connectivity over an Ethernet based network, and Java application 
functionality.

·        Understanding of UNIX, LDAP, and Active Directory users/groups and how 
to use them to secure files/applications.

·        Understanding of high availability systems and application architecture

·        Experience with SQL multiple database systems: Oracle, MySQL, etc. 

·        Expertise with VB, shell, or Perl scripting

·        Ability to troubleshoot functional and technical incidents occurring 
on the various applications

·        Strong experience using SSH/SFTP/FTP/SSL and other similar transfer 
protocols and encrypted methods.

·        Detailed knowledge of application database, network, and system 
performance configuration and tuning techniques.

·        Thorough understanding of application customization toolset.

·        Experience with Spring, Hibernate, WebLogic, Oracle SOA, JBoss rules, 
.net and CA Wiley would a plus. 

 

EDUCATION

 

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.

Job Title : Java Developer 

Duration : Contract 6+ months (C2H an option)

Location : Philadelphia, PA

Interview mode : Phone & Skype

 

Description:

·        As part of the  Group Insurance team, the Java Developer takes an 
active role with Java development activities in support of a technical 
delivery.  Functionality delivered supports all Group Insurance products and 
business functions as well as Client enterprise portfolio delivery. Reports to 
the Application Development Manager. Interacts with Business Analysts, Business 
Partners, Project Managers, Enterprise, Data, and System Architects, Designers, 
Developers, and Quality Assurance as well as 3rd party vendors.

 

 

Skills: 

  a.. 3 + years Technical expertise combined with drive and communication 
skills to help establish a Java development practice and an application 
integration platform for Group IT. 
  b.. 3+ Outstanding expertise in Java Enterprise software development and 
Enterprise Application Integration using Spring and Spring Integration. 
  c.. 3+ Experience with the JBoss platform and MS SQL Server. 
  d.. Solid understanding of software development best practices (test-driven 
development, continuous integration) and different software development 
methodologies (agile, waterfall). 
  e.. Analytical thinker and hands-on problem solver who excels at getting new 
team members up to speed. 
  f.. Result driven mindset and ability to communicate with people at all 
management levels. 
  g.. Experience using Maven and the Atlassian tool suite a plus.
