Preferred specialty areas include Hitachi Storage, HP Blades, DataDomain, VMware Virtualization (vSphere 4.x, 5.x), Cisco UCS and Datacenter Switching (Certification preferred) - Deep technical skill set in several DC Compute and/or Storage technologies. - Participate in all aspects of the virtual infrastructure (Data Center) provisioning such as Network, Storage, CMDB, monitoring, backup, capacity planning, and proactive/reactive solutions. - Define and implement automated system installation/configuration procedures of the operational IaaS service. - Develop and integrate the tools required to control operational change across the compute stack through manual and automated processes. - Coordinating and supervising all release activities into production environments. - Automating systems monitoring tasks using standard monitoring tools. - ITIL / ETOM or Equivalent framework experience and/ or certification *Business * - Provides timely updates to the project manager and customer when requested. - Implements solutions using industry best practice but balanced with time and product resources available for project. - Contribute to planning efforts for future based project activities. - Work with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering (various), Product Management, and other key stakeholders to drive high levels of customer satisfaction. - Provides recommendations to the Senior Compute Engineer on people process and tools that could enhance service offering. - Engages in continuous learning to stay current on new and emerging datacenter technologies.
