OSITION SUMMARY: Business Intelligence developer is responsible for the analysis and review of all data requirements arising from various projects within our organization to ensure appropriate standards are being met regarding data model, structures and use of the appropriate data. He or She will be responsible for preparing and reviewing database changes, data mapping, data flow, ETL processes and also any data layer used for reporting and will be actively involved in the earlier phases of the project development to ensure the appropriate standards are being met. He or She will provide troubleshooting and analysis to ensure databases and nightly data loads are properly maintained and functional. He or She must be able to communicate clearly and concisely to internal customers ranging from executive level management to support staff and peers as well as external entities as required. He or She must be able to clearly and concisely capture and document user requirements and be able to provide guidance in the creation of business reports. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes the following, other duties may be assigned) • Analyzes, designs, codes, and tests new application development and enhancements in accordance with company standards on schedule and within budget. • Provides technical troubleshooting, support and resolution to applications problems. • Create and maintain documentation, including: business requirements, functional design, technical design, implementation plans, and user guides. • Captures business requirements and translates them to design requirements to deliver data analytics to internal insurance business users. • Participates in the analysis and requirements gathering processes and develops design specifications. • Able to work at the data model level and provide technical guidance and setup of for database schema and indexing, and make recommendations on performance issues & SQL construct. • Responsible for Data Mapping of Source/Target systems, data integration/interface standards, and data workflow management. • Defining and steering strategies for the development of data related infrastructure and processes, such as data warehousing, operational data store (ODS), master data management (MDM), and metadata models. • Design and architect the implementation of common data models as well as providing data and information expertise to the MSMM team. • Responsible for evaluating the use of data and relating data directly to the goals and practices of an insurance company in a way that provides clear results.
