Candidate must work onsite at the Baltimore office. *Responsibilities:* · Support production systems to ensure continuous availability. · Design, build and operate ideal database solutions that meet business needs as well as incorporate redundancy, high performance, scalability, and high availability. · Proactively manage multiple databases in Production, Development, and QA environments · Plan, implement and operate backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes for all databases. · Support application development as a trusted advisor, providing specific guidance around database availability and performance · Design data architecture through data modeling and database design. · Resolve issues relating to performance, capacity, availability, and other issues. · Configure/manage failover/high availability capabilities. · Manage data risks, including leading database security best practices · Collaborate with teams on solution sizing and hardware requirements definition. · Implement and revise processes in line with policies and business requirements. · The Engineer will compliment a team of senior IT professionals designing and supporting highly available and scalable industry leading products and services * * *Requirements: * - The candidate must be solutions oriented and will collaborate closely with management, engineers and clients in a highly dynamic agile development environment. - Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience or Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience. - Consultant must be service oriented providing value to Noridian. - Experience with two or more RDBMS systems (preferably DB2. - Consultant should have good analytical skills to solve a given problem. - Communicate and document the processes/design effectively. - Database disaster recovery and business continuity experience. - Prior experience with Database connectivity (OCI, ODBC, JDBC, ORMs) preferred. - Advanced system administration knowledge in one or more OS. - Performance tuning at infrastructure, database, SQL query, and application layers. - Experience automating execution, documentation and reporting of data flow processes. - Time Management skills, able to handle dynamic workloads and prioritize effectively and transparently.
