SKILLS:* Senior VMWare/Cloud System Engineer *START DATE:** 4/14/2014* *INTERVIEW:** phone screen; poss. face-to-face/Skype* *DURATION:** 8 months * *Duties:* Design, Implement, Support and Manage the Global Virtualization Platforms (Vblock) and supporting tool sets. Experience with the VMware VCloud Suite of tools, which include vCOPS, vCloud Automation Center. *Skills:* · The primary responsibility of this position is the administration and maintenance of private data networks. Responsibilities include engineering and support of Internal Local and Wide Area Networks, Data Security, Internet, and Network Hardware Duties and Activities Monitor network performance. · Provide network tuning and maintenance to ensure network availability, optimization, acceptable response time, and end-user satisfaction. · Network move, adds, and changes (MACs) administration process and procedure documentation. · Ensure the corporate backup and recovery policy is implemented and adhered to at all times. · Adhere to the Corporate Change Control Policy to ensure service interruption is minimized or eliminated. · Create and implement disaster recovery process and procedures activities as required. · Create and keep current documentation on all networks. · Complete any and all tasks assigned by the Manager Systems in a timely manner. · Meet with the different business areas to understand their business requirements or to inform them a project status on a regular basis. · Work with vendors in the analysis, planning, development and implementation of solutions to meet the business requirements. · Create project plans for all projects and ensure all project deadlines for milestones and deliverables are met. Report status of activities to management weekly or more often as required. · Maintain personal knowledge and currency with network technical developments to provide advice and recommendations as necessary. · Assist in the tracking of corporate network assets. *Essential Knowledge and Skills -* Must have an excellent working knowledge of configuration and support of Cisco hardware, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, and building and cabling infrastructure. Additional experience in wireless protocols, multimedia technologies, Internet/Extranet firewalls and VPN equipment.
