They are producing an analytics dashboard geared for CFO's so that they can
get a high level snapshot of how they are performing financially and then
they can drill down into their data.

So some analytics background would be good.

And of course Big Data is a must.

Client is looking for a senior Hadoop Developer to join our team.

This person will be working with raw data that has been provided through
crawlers and from a number of different applications.

This data will then need to be transformed into a consumable dataset that
can be utilized by the user interface.

Our ideal candidate is a true expert in big data storage systems who has
experience shipping applications.

*The candidate should be no stranger to a breadth of modern data storage
technologies like Hadoop, Map Reduce, Hbase, Splunk, Vertica, ETL
processing Accumulo, and MongoDB.  *



Hadoop Developer will be responsible for:

•Design and implement large distributed systems that scale well to hundreds
of terabytes of data.

•Articulate problems in storage to the engineering organization in a way
that drives quick and effective improvements of the system.

Furthermore, drive engineering with suggestions and best practices on how
to solve these issues.

•Articulate problems in storage to the business in a way that helps the
business make decisions on the impact of performance problems.

Furthermore, help the business understand multiple ways forward, costs, and
tradeoffs.

•Institutionalize best practices as a cultural imperative to shipping great
software to customers.

•Analyze performance characteristics to identify bottlenecks, failure
points, and security holes in large-scale distributed systems.

•Facilitate the automation of the operations, administration, and tuning of
large storage clusters through tool development.



*Required Experience:*

*•1-3 years of Big Data development using Hadoop, Map Reduce, Hbase.*

*•Hadoop Ecosystem (Hive, Pig, Sqoop).*

*•Apache Crunch (nice to have).*

•Map/Reduce, Knowledge of Mappers and Reducers.

•Knowledge of developing jobs/programs with ecosystem and Java tools

•Experience building Data Models with raw data and transforming into a
consumable application format.

*•4+ year’s software development experience with a highly-scalable,
distributed, large multi-node environment (1000+ nodes).*


*Java Framework development, Web Services (SOAP, REST).
