JOB DESCRIPTION
The candidate is required to work one day a week or one day every other
week at client office. The client is flexible for the day of the week. The
candidate is expected to work with our client’s IT team and client’s DBA
for the maintenance and upgrading window server 2003 to window server 2008.
Client has MS SQL installed on Windows 2003 server. Services will be
delivered Monday-Friday for 8-hours per week. Additional hours may be
requested by the client at their discretion.

Tasks are included but not limited to:
Maintenance
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade
administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as
necessary.
Upgrade and configure system software that supports GIS infrastructure
applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational
needs.
Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource
optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as
required.
Maintain data centre environmental and monitoring equipment.
Security Updates deployment on test servers.
Security Updates deployment on production servers.
Monitoring Event Logs (Application, System & Security) and take appropriate
action to fix errors or warnings if found.
Firmware update.
HP Proliant Support Pack update.
Performance monitoring.
Monitoring Disk Space utilization, Memory Utilization & CPU Utilization.
Administration of SAN.
Fix issues raised by client Information Security Governance.

Experience:
Upgrading existing infrastructure to newer versions of window server.
Managing and administrating SQL and MS file servers.
Experience of upgrading window server 2003 to window server 2008.
