*Java Developer Description*



Candidates will be working on the Electronic Payments & Statements (EPS) as
part of an Agile Team.  EPS is a system comprised of Java J2EE applications
and various UNIX batch jobs.





*What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position?*

   - Develops application code related to new functionality and defects for
   the EPS system. This is primarily in Java.  Shell scripting and WebSphere
   Transformation Extender (WTX) are major pluses
   - Creates unit test plans, executes unit testing and documents results
   to ensure that code is working as per specification
   - Ability to quickly translate requirements contained in user stories
   into functioning web pages and batch job enhancements
   - Attend daily Scrum calls; report daily personal updates, proposed
   future work, and discussions on any blocking issues
   - Work with the team to “get the job done”, including teaming up with
   peers, and collaborating with System Analysts on solutions and Quality
   Analyst to remediate defects
   - EPS has fast moving development cycles. The candidate must be able to
   seamlessly move between tasks
   - Maintain well commented code; develop technical documentation as needed
   - Assist System Analyst with database query design

*What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily
responsibilities?*

   - Rally (agile tool for managing user stories and tasks)
   - Rational Application Developer or other Eclipse-based IDE
   - Subversion, Maven, Ant

*What skills/attributes are a must have?*

   - 5 or more years of experience with the Software Development Life Cycle
   - Experience working in Agile environment
   - 5 or more years of strong experience in Web application development
   using Java, J2EE, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, JavaScript, JSP, CSS and
   AJAX technologies
   - UNIX and Shell scripting (Korn shell)
   - 3 or more years of relational database experience (DB2), including
   writing and optimizing queries
   - 3 or more years of strong experience building in web services using
   REST, JSON, SOAP, SAML, XML, etc.
   - Angular framework, log4j, jQuery, WebSphere Transformation Extender,
   PX, Eclipse

*What skills/attributes are nice to have?*

   - Angular framework, webservices/APIs
   - WebSphere administration
   - TWS
