Position: Sr. Software Engineer Location: Minnesota Interview Type: Phone/F2F Rate: $50/hr w2 (All inclusive) *Core Java* *JavaScript* *Web Services (restful web services) * • Provide overall development and implementation of new multi-tier computer applications within the organization’s multiple operating system environments; seek opportunities to improve, replace, or enhance legacy systems performance or design, so they may continue to meet management’s decision-making requirements. Position focus tends to be on organizations more complex systems and applications. • Ensure that new and modifications to existing applications are adequately tested and documented; create and review system documentation, including the development of implementation and rollback procedures; coordinate user acceptance testing as well as application interface testing. • Assist in the evaluation of programming tools and utilities, in the development of programming standards and best practices and in the mentoring of department’s entry level staff on proper techniques and development practices; act as a resource for issue resolution. • Maintain the integrity of application source code and underlying data through the use of version control systems and tape backups. Qualifications/Skills: • Strong background in computers and technology and in object oriented development technologies • Ability to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions • Effective oral and written communication skills Specific Skills the Manager is looking for: Web Services (SOAP Restful) this role will be based around implementing web services from the data layer up Apache CXF or Apache experience (this will be used to accomplish web services) Oracle Database experience TDD Strong Nice to have Good soft skills to work with the existing business team and technical folks Hibernate is also a nice to have • Fully versed in the most current development techniques, and always keeping up on what’s changing (as I mentioned, we don’t want someone reluctant to change from old techniques) • Always planning ahead for future changes/enhancements • Desire to always improve/optimize code – not settle for whatever is easiest • Detail-oriented…ideally, a perfectionist. :^) • Able to explain technical subjects in layman’s terms • Ability to find creative solutions to problems • Understands/embraces usability and visual design concepts Business Casual. SuperValu's sites are not operating at optimal capacity. This reasource will imporve website content thus increasing profitability for SuperValu. Super Valu is also adding small grocery chains that are non-branded into thier que as a service to those stores. They expected to sign up a small number of non-branded chains for web services support and they signed up 52 which is creating the urgency. If they don't get these sites up and running, it is a major false start, impacting credibility and revenue streams. High visibility into C/V/and D Levels of leadership.
