A google search yielded this: https://news.slashdot.org/story/25/03/07/2250209/bbc-radios-streaming-changes-leave-long-time-listeners-in-the-lurch
I wasn't aware of the deal between the Beeb and Amazon. And another: https://james.cridland.net/blog/2025/bbc-audio-international/ As I had noted in my prior post, it appears the "International" version of Radio 4 differs from what's currently on offer. And this from The Hollywood Reporter, which has an interview with someone behind the strategy: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/bbc-podcasts-move-website-app-outside-uk-1236136462/ I regularly use a software script tool called "get_iplayer" which does a decent job fetching content from BBC Sounds (if you know how to correctly parse the URLs in BBC Sounds) and avoiding the annoying "BBC Sounds" tag and the podcast ads). It will be interesting to see if this still works after BBC Sounds disappears to us international users. See https://www.squarepenguin.co.uk/faqs/getting-started/ for a good overview on this useful tool.
