Conference in Honour of Dele Layiwola,
Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters,
Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan

Presentations shall favour but not be limited to the following
sub-themes:

1. Mapping the Postcolonial Landscape
2. Postcolonial Political and Economic Development
3. Orality, Culture and Performance
4. Language, Methodology and Politics of Knowledge Production
5. Race, Memory and Identity
6. Religion, Faith and Spirituality
7. Media and Postcolonial Africanities
8. New Media, New Literacies, and (Re)Definition of Space and
   Community
9. Game, Sports and Fandom
10. Health, Medicine and New Anxieties
11. Gender and Sexuality
12. Marginalization, Liberation and the Human Condition
13. Adaptation, Improvisation and other Compositional Forms  
14. Theatre and the Dramatic Script
15. Folklore and Contemporary Culture
16. Art and Social Change
17. Ethics, Ethos and the Arts
18. Culture, Economy and Entrepreneurship
19. Myths, Modernity and Social Reality

Intending presenters are expected to submit 250-word abstracts on the
above sub-themes. Five keywords should be supplied along with the
abstract. Abstracts should be sent by electronic mail
to delelayiwolaa...@gmail.com. The deadline for abstract submission
is March 30, 2018. Papers to be presented at the colloquium are
expected to be between 6000 and 7000 words including references,
plates and all attachments and appendices. Referencing should be in
APA 6 style.

Lead Presentation 1:
"African History, Cultural Production and the Allure of Multiple
Narratives" by Prof Akin Alao

Lead Presentation 2:
"Social Sustenance, Africanity and the Arts in an Age of Breaching
Borders" by Prof Gbemisola Adeoti
