Job Announcement Type: Lecturer in Comparative Political Theory Institution: Department of Politics and International Relations, Goldsmiths, University of London Location: London (United Kingdom) Deadline: 31.1.2019 __________________________________________________ The Department of Politics and International Relations at Goldsmiths is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Comparative Political Theory with research and teaching strengths in non-Western political thought, preferably with respect to race, religion, justice, violence, gender or sexuality. The successful candidate should also be able to convene the core second year module in Modern Political Theory and contribute to other undergraduate teaching across the spectrum of classical and contemporary political theory. S/he will also contribute to a new MA in Comparative Political Theory and Global Politics, which is currently under development. At Goldsmiths, we seek to expand and redefine disciplinary boundaries by pushing politics beyond its traditional parameters and comfort zones, thereby critically engaging with and challenging its conventional presuppositions. We approach politics and international relations from a variety of critical and interdisciplinary perspectives drawing on insights from a wide range of humanities and social sciences, including politics, economics, sociology, anthropology, history, art and cultural studies.
