Apparently Firefox then reacts the key presses instead of or as well as key releases. Ion releases the active grab created by pressing a grabbed key as soon as it receives it, so apps can receive the release event. Mod1+space isn't that good key for the scratchpad anyway. Mod1+<whatever key you have at the upper left corner next to '1'> is much better, but unfortunately not portable. -- Tuomo
