Transients are placed at the bottom of the main windows (oops.. I should've said south instead of north gravity). The height is the previous client-requested height unless there is not enough space and the width is always the maximum (both modulo size hints). Main windows are centered in the frame if the size hints limit them smaller than the available space.
Ok, that is what I have now. Then the question is why hight is respected, but not width?
Placement for transients could/should IMHO also be center, os as I want it, the (by the client) requested position if possible (with respect to the current space available)? Why south (or north for that matter)? Is there an ion philosophy behind it, or is it just "as it happen to be right now"?
Or perhaps this is the kind of thing that is too easy to modify myself, so I shouldn't really bother you with it heehe :-))
Cheers, /Niclas
