I use Ion as my primary window manager, and I think it is great. However, I would really love to have, upon startup, my applications automatically start in the frames they were previously running in.
According to the FAQ, In Ion2, it is possible to use winprops to map window classes to certain frames. Would it be possible to have ion take an inventory of the window classes in each frame when shutting down. Ion could then possibly make this mapping for each frame, start the previously running programs, and unmap the classes as soon as the required windows manifested themselves. Or is this not possible? You'll have to excuse me if I've shown my ignorance in how X works. I haven't really learned the details at all. Just a thought. -- Rick Funderburg
