The bindings don't necessarily need to come as part of the Ion distribution.
Having them available on the webpage or wiki would already be something. As
far as maintainability, the config file format seems to be pretty stable.

The point is to make it easier for someone making a transition from a
traditional window manager. Ion's got a steep enough learning curve as it
is, without having to learn new key bindings.

As the user gets accustomed to Ion, they will probably want to customize
their key bindings anyway.
