Hi there! Sometimes I am using pekwm, sometimes ion2. I don't know yet which is better for my usual work. Well, doesn't matter... @home I have a gentoo linux with xorg-6.8.0. When I start ion2 there it is completely unresponsive and a desktop change takes 1min roughly. When the change is finished a focus change (moving mouse pointer onto another window) also takes ages ( ~ +30s).
I first thought it got puzzled when I change from pekwm from to ion2, but putting ion2 in ~/.xinitrc at 1st has same symptoms. I therefore installed ion3 package, with has no such issues at all! May be it is an xorg problem. xorg has a couple of bugs yet which is no rant at all but human in such big new software. So, has anybody similair problems under xorg with ion2 or even not?
