gkrellm and dock size

When I run gkrellm (2.2.4) in a floating dock in ion3 (svn) it doesn't
get fully displayed. For a split-second I see the whole gkrellm and then
the top and bottom are cut off. Dock is placed at middle right. Any
ideas? Note that if I run multiple instances of gkrellm the dock does
get extended, but each gkrellm still displayed incorrectly.
