ok. actually it seems that switching workspaces is not the only action that make the 'Your session has been saved' dialog appear - cycling through clients seems to do the same. It takes a couple of focus switches before the dialog comes up. I'm using gnome-session 2.8.1 btw. Without taking from your time, anything I could try to find out more? Mike
