I have a repeatable interaction among Ion, xnc (http://xnc.dubna.su),
and the command to set vi-style command line editing (set -o vi) in sh
on FreeBSD 4.10. With the command line editing option set in my .shrc,
if I start Ion and then xnc via F3, it will start in a frame and then
immediately exit. Invoking xnc in an xterm will produce the same
effect. If I invoke xnc in an Ion floating window the problem doesn't
happen (or in any other window manager; e.g., wmi, twm). If the
offending line (set -o vi) is removed from the .shrc then the problem is
eliminated and xnc will open in a frame and stay open. I assume it's an
xnc problem but since I can't repeat it in other wms (e.g., wmi, twm, or
Ion's floats) then I figured I'd post here first. I'm an Ion novice so
I may be confused on proper configuration of such. Any suggestions
would be welcome. TIA.
