I'm still using ion2, but use Mod1+Space to toggle the dock (the Windows key is my modifier). I find this a very quick-to-type combination (left little finger for Mod1, right thumb for Space, leaves most fingers on the home keys) so it could be a good choice for the scratchpad. -- Tom
