My understanding is that the 17th was the feature freeze-date. It would be POSSIBLE to cherry-pick this fix into the 0.9.2 release branch, however that would be up to the release team to decide.
I'd not been aware that it was a major feature of the release though I did try my best to get reviews in fast enough to make it happen.
