Hi Bernie, Can you please describe what you will be documenting and where?
Currently there are 4 platforms to document: - Linux - Tizen - Android - Arduino - (Not officially supported) iOS - (Not officially supported) Darwin (ie. MacOS) Currently there are three spots for documentation: 1. The Main IoTivity site (https://www.iotivity.org/documentation/linux/getting-started & https://www.iotivity.org/documentation/linux/programmers-guide) 2. The Iotivity Wiki (https://wiki.iotivity.org/build_for_your_system) 3. The root of the repo ([IOTIVITY]/Readme.scons.txt) I ask because it appears that the documentation at 1 & 3 are out of date. I would like to ask that documentation at location 1 be removed, while documentation located at 2 & 3 be updated as you see fit. Thanks, Joey From: Keany, Bernie Sent: Thursday, June 25, 2015 10:08 AM To: Morrow, Joseph L; iotivity-dev at lists.iotivity.org Subject: Re: [dev] IoTivity 'Getting-Started' Guides Importance: High Hi Joey, We will be contributing the Android Getting Started Guide and the Programmer's Guide. Collectively we should look at the common prerequisites (Linux Version, common packages, etc.) and document those and only capture the platfrorm specific parts in each of those. Thoughts, Bernie From: <Morrow>, Joseph L <joseph.l.morrow at intel.com<mailto:[email protected]>> Date: Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 9:25 AM To: "iotivity-dev at lists.iotivity.org<mailto:iotivity-dev at lists.iotivity.org>" <iotivity-dev at lists.iotivity.org<mailto:iotivity-dev at lists.iotivity.org>> Subject: [dev] IoTivity 'Getting-Started' Guides All, Can someone please remove the "Getting Started" and "Programmers Guide" guides from the main pages of iotivity.org? These documents should be moved to the wiki at wiki.iotivity.org. At this time, only a handful of people can make changes to the main pages of iotivity.org. Please note that the "Getting Started" and "Programmers Guide" guides on iotivity.org are seriously out of date and leave end users real confused. Once these guides are properly transferred to the wiki, any contributors may update them as needed. I am currently working on a newer "Getting Started" guide for Arduino now. Someone else should consider working on revamping the "Getting Started" guides for Linux, Tizen, Android, and OSX.
