Thanks Uze for clarifying. We currently do not have APIs to change the properties of the resource after creation. We will add those APIs. --Vijay From: ???(Uze Choi) [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, March 30, 2015 4:56 PM To: Kesavan, Vijay S; minsuk1.choi at samsung.com; iotivity-dev at lists.iotivity.org Subject: RE: [dev] discoverable property turning off issue
Vijay, You are right. If we change the property, will the change could be applied dynamically on the platform? Essentially, you want the ability to turn ON/OFF the discoverable flag, right? --Vijay From: iotivity-dev-bounces at lists.iotivity.org<mailto:iotivity-dev-bounces at lists.iotivity.org> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of ??? Sent: Sunday, March 29, 2015 11:14 PM To: iotivity-dev at lists.iotivity.org<mailto:iotivity-dev at lists.iotivity.org> Subject: [dev] discoverable property turning off issue Hello, This is Minsuk Choi who is in charge of Resource Hosting module(As i know, many one knows this as a Notification Manager) I have some questions about base resource module. could you please consider below if you know about it? In the resource hosting scenario, resource hosting device should substitute for resource provider. For example, resource provider should send resource informations to the host device and the host device should relay it to other subscribers. for implementing this scenario, if host device of specific resource was decided, then providers resource should be hide and only the copied resource that is cloned in the host device should be possible to be found because subscriber should recognize only the host device's resource as a real resource. it means that we(notification manager) should change the resource property. The discoverable property of provider device should be turned off since the hosting start. However, we couldn't find any example code like a setProperty() or something like that. so i want to ask you how i could design for this? Is there anyone who is possible to consider this issue? or do I have to change it for myself? It is possible to change the base code for myself but i think it could change the resource design... so i think it is not a good idea to do like that for myself.
