The MacOS and iOS builds are currently without a maintainer and have
clearly decayed in quality. The MacOS build is still done by Jenkins to
validate commits so it's not completely ignored.  It's great that you
got as far as you did (my test builds for MacOS get nowhere near this
far).  If you come up with changes, let's submit them, then we will have
to figure out who would be able to merge them.  It would be great if
you'd use the 1.3-rel or master branches as almost no fixes have
backported to 1.2-rel in the last few months - I count three commits
since Feb, so it's almost certainly missing some important stuff, and
the security was relatively immature in that release.
