I can help with the problems you are facing related to IoTivity Easy Setup.

Kindly open a JIRA ticket in jira.iotivity.org with details of your environment and iotivity code (branch / release details).

 

Also, please note that "Scenario A" described in your mail below, its not possible for Easy Setup Resource discovery to work as Mediator and Enrollee are not connected with a common transport.

"Scenario B" should work and we can investigate same if you can create the ticket.

Hi Guys,

I am trying to get easy setup functionality  working with below setup i.e
- Smart phone as a Mediator,
- Ubuntu based laptop as an Enrollee, and
- RDKB based gateway set top box as an Enroller.

Setup description is as below,
Scenario: A
1. Smart phone has mediator application installed and is connected to the WiFi hotspot given by the gateway set top box.
2. Ubuntu has Enrollee application running without connecting to any network,
Now, when i press the discovery button on the mediator, it never finds the Enrollee application running on the laptop.

Scenario: B
1. Smart phone has mediator application installed and is connected to the WiFi hotspot given by the gateway set top box.
2. Ubuntu has Enrollee application running and is connected to the WiFi hotspot given by gateway set top box.
Even in this case, if discovery button on the mediator is pressed, it never finds the Enrollee application running on the laptop.

What am I doing wrong here? Please do help in resolving this issue.
