OpenOCF has a rudimentary implementation that you might be able to borrow from. Start with https://github.com/OpenOCF/iochibity/blob/master/src/comm/transport/udpip/udp_status_manager_darwin.c Caveat: that code is quick and dirty cut and paste from the web stuff. No warranty!
