Initial time of IoTivity, this feature has been designed.

This feature is for notification from server device when it turn off the
server. Client should subscribe to server.

So this is just for when a server knows it is shutting down? I.e. if it gets
smashed with a hammer then the Presence feature does not apply?

What about a server coming online? I have the impression Presence service is
relevant. No?

[Uz] This has the TTL concept so client can aware when no communication.

Even though these feature has not been taken as core spec, some iotivity
services already use these feature.

Such as?

[Uz] Some companies has their service for mobile to monitor the device presence.

It will be better to fix the code to work well with disabling WITH_PRESENCE.
Build.

I'll file a jira.

that looks like something that could be cleaned up. could you drop this
into a Jira ticket? as far as I can see, it's never tested with it
disabled - it's hardcoded defined in octypes.h and there is no flag
value you can pass to the build to turn it off.

Here's my offer: somebody explains to me what the point of this stuff is, and I
file Jira tix to clean it up.

There's a lot to be cleaned up. I'm disinclined to mop up if I have no idea
what the benefit is.
