There are many things that aren't finished yet and this code has not been extensively tested on any platform other than Mac OS X. Feedback and bug reports are more than welcome. He will be making a new beta release every Thursday for the rest of the summer. Here's what's working as of 3.0b1: * TCP control socket now manages messages between client and server * Dynamic server (gets test parameters from client) * Server can now set test options dynamically without having to restart. * Currently supported options: -l, -t, -n, -P, -R * Future options: -u, -b, -w, -M, -N, -I, -T, -Z, -6 * Results exchange * Client can now see server results (and vice versa) * Reverse mode (-R) * Server sends, client receives Here is the current roadmap for the rest of the summer: #summary Roadmap for the development of iperf3 = Iperf3 Roadmap = This is the tentative beta release schedule for iperf3. == Beta 1 (July 8, 2010) == * TCP functional * Test parameter exchange * Test results exchange * Code cleanup * Fixed autoconf == Beta 2 (July 15, 2010) == * Support for UDP tests * Support for setting various TCP options (MSS, no delay, etc.) == Beta 3 (July 22, 2010) == * Better error handling * Support for binding to specific hosts == Beta 4 (July 29, 2010) == * Iperf API release * Support for verbose and debug mode == Beta 5 (August 5, 2010) == * IPv6 Support * Support for running the server as a daemon The wiki page for this will be kept up to date: http://code.google.com/p/iperf/wiki/Iperf3Roadmap Please be sure to report any bugs you might find, preferably on the Google Code issue tracker. *Repeating myself* Be aware that this is a beta release.
