Hi ,
I'm trying measured UDP throughput on wireless interface.
when I transmit 40M data iPerf transmission fluctuate between 30Mbps to 40Mbps
so just want to understand how reliable is iperf with high data rate.
i'm using command
iperf -c IP ADD -u -b 40M -i 1 -t 20 (This command in executed on windows PC
connected to router using ethernet cable.
iperf -s -u -i 1 (This commands is executed on laptop connected using 11n
wireless card)
following is the output i see on cleint side
40Mbits/sec
39Mbits/sec
31Mbits/sec
35Mbits/sec
Since UDP is packet switched protocol i think transmission should not fluctuate
even though receiver is not able to handle that much data.
I tried same test with Linux machine as a client insted of windows machine.
I would realy apreciate if someone could give me explaination to this. so far i
started to believe iPerf is not a tool for higher data rate.
Regards,
Praveen
