Hi,

OK I am having an unexpected behaviour linked to IP filter.

I am using a Windows PC, with X-win-32 as X Window server

I am uing a Solaris machine as the window manager (fvwm), from the
window manager I rsh (actually xrsh) to various Unix servers to open
an xterm.

This has been working fine for many years, on many flavors of Unix.

This has been working fine when I used ipfw as a firewall.

Now that I use ip filter, I am encoutering some random disconnections
of the xterm client.

I would open an xterm that way and it will stay up and iddled during
all the weekend. But at other times it get disconnected after
5minutes.

Problem is that when I get disconnected, the state that was open for
Xwindow stays in the table until it times out (5 days).

It could be happening when I am sending a great amount of text to the
xterm, or when the firewall is heavily loaded, but that's only
presomptions.

Any idea would help.

Bests,

olivier
