I have just tested this on the same server using IPFilter 4.1.3 and pfil 2.1.4 and it
still has the same behaviour as before.

Subject: Memory Leak in IPFilter 4.1.2 on Solaris 9 9/04

blocking udp packets on Solaris 9 9/04 with ipf 4.1.2 seems to be causing a memory
leak in the kernel.

This can be replicated by running ipf with just the following rule in ipf.conf
block in proto udp all

I have tested this on two different systems running Solaris 9 9/04 (with the
recommended patch cluster from 17/09) and both display the same behaviour. I have also
tested this on a server running Solaris 9 4/04 and it does not appear to display this
behaviour (note this is just a test box to a lot less traffic)

Relevant mdb information from a crash dump with kmem_flags=0x7 is attached.
