When I loaded my ruleset, I got:
244:ioctl(add/insert rule): File exists
Examining the rules showed a duplicate rule at line 242, not 244. This message is printed by tools/ipf_y.y. The linenumber seems to be off by 2 lines.

I just upgraded my Solaris 8 box from ipfilter 3.4.x to 4.1.3.
Everything is working fine, great compatibility! :-)
