Do you know where it is stored. I wanted to check permissions on the
file or see if it was corrupted. Or is it just in memory.

It's about the only thing I can think of (hardware issues) - have you
tried another box? If that doesn't work, maybe I'll take you up on
those
packet dumps - but since NAT fails even on non sppp links, I'm tempted
to point at hardware even though I was trying to avoid that before...
State information is stored in memory and you can see it with
"ipnat -l"
